SINGAPORE: DIAP JV AWARDED CONTRACT FOR JURONG ISLAND WESTWARD EXTENSION

*** For my own reference only

Dredging International Asia Pacific Pte Ltd (DIAP, DEME’s subsidiary for the South East Asia region) in a joint venture with Starhigh Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, has been awarded a design and build contract for 148 hectares of land reclamation as an extension to Jurong Island for the account of Singapore government’s largest industrial landlord JTC (Jurong Town Corporation).
The work under the contract comprise sand bund construction with shore protection, dredging for deepening of shoreline, basin and channel realignment, soil improvement works, sand supply, re-use of marine dredged and land-based excavated material and construction of roads, drains and sewers and preparation of a site for vacuum consolidation research.
The S$1.02 billion contract will be developed in three reclamation phases, a part being executed by DIAP.
A part of the Temasek Fairway and West Jurong Channel will be realigned and deepened to specified levels.
DIAP will deploy spud grab dredgers and its own self-propelled trailing suction hopper dredger for the work, which will commence by mid-December and will be finished by end 2017 for Phases 1 and 2. Works for Phase 3 are to be completed by mid-August 2018.

Marina Pro?

lately, these few days, I've been spending some time and went around the places around Marina Bay area. I discover near pathway into MBS from Promenade MRT, check out foods at the Gallerie Food Court at Marina Square, walk around Marina Square, becoming soooo familiar there. Sang K at Marina Square, watched movie, and supper at Makansutra @ Glutton's Bay. Passed by some da:ns Festival.

Even got familiar with the CHIJMES' place! Have been catching the latest Rugby World Cup action at the Australian-owned Hog's Breath Cafe and Bar! Tried to see the situation at Harry's Bar (below) but was so dayum packed with people. Oh, and New Zealand beat Australia in the semis! Congrats to Piri Weepu and co.!

60's Food Street

Went to Orchard last Saturday and came across this...

Another 60's themed food fare! Seems like it has been a trend in Singapore nowadays to bring back the good old dining ala 60's lol. Anyways, I'm probably might try this place out someday, not that soon though. By the way, it is very easy to locate this place (just opposite Orchard Central)

Things To Do In Singapore (2)

Just thought of another pointless thing to do in Singapore if you are really really free....

Take a bus from an interchange to another interchange on other parts of the island. Its interesting what things you could see on the way and you could learn new roads to drive.

e.g. just did that today! took bus 72 from Tampines Interchange to Yio Chu Kang Terminal! wif mum too (end to end~ zzz~) was fun and learnt many new roads and things on the way xixi

must do on broad daylight ~.~ would be better, cost less than sgd2 only

Things To Do In Singapore

Just thought of a really really pointless thing to do once you have tried everything in Singapore :

try walking from one end to the other end of the MRT and walk back again ^^ it'll be fun i guess? im sure there's some interesting stuffs to be seen

Cheers. Tea out

2011!

Happy New Year 2011!

Image: taken with my J105i camera panorama mode ^^

went to Marina Bay Sands yesterday to catch up on the fireworks display..anyways didnt see everything clearly (too smoky!) we were at a good but wrong vantage point, so.... =.= anyways, next time I WILL know what to do if Im ever gonna watch fireworks again =) So, its my 3rd time celebrating new year's eve at Marina Bay yet it never fails to impress... with addition to my interest of building and surrounding structures...(am have been in and out of Marina Bay's recently opened area since its opening in mid - 2010!)

This year, with hope, will be a good one for myself and for everyone, will be the first year Im in the working life. Several things I would like to achieve this year, definitely : save money, clear my debts with some people, try to be good/better to people and take good care and appreciate wonderful things around myself. Hope to have a better temper this year, try to look into the optimistic things in life, am another year older now :)

Came across this interesting website recently : Shut up and get to work
