KUCHING: Landscape architect Lam Kai Yung’s design of a vibrant contemporary sculpture saw him emerged as the first prize winner of the KTS 50th Anniversary Sculpture Design Competition here yesterday.
The architect, who incorporated 50 lamp posts to represent KTS’s 50th anniversary in his design, walked away with RM600.
The second and third prize winners were awarded to Limkokwing Borneo student Liaw Kheng Boon and landscape architect James Sim Kwang Seng who won RM400 and RM200 respectively.
On hand to present the prizes was KTS resources projects department manager Jeffrey Yeung Lok Hin.
In the Stage Design Competition category, Chin Siew Lun was awarded the first prize of RM500 while the second and third prizes comprising RM300 and RM100 respectively were awarded to Tang Chung Lee and Jenny Kong Ling Li. All three winners are currently students of Limkokwing Borneo.
Meanwhile, architect Doreen Lim Hui Sze won herself RM500 in the Billboard and Entrance Guard House category whereas students Chan Lek Heng and Chai Jui Ghee each won themselves RM300 and RM100 having won the second and third prize respectively.
Held in conjunction with KTS 50th anniversary, the design competitions aimed to generate more design creativity in the community.
